Year 3 is an important year for children, as they make the transition from Infants to Juniors. We support this in a variety of ways; from the level of structure and support given, to the continuation of afternoon breaks for the first term.
Our learning is based around a variety of topics, which we try to link to as many areas of the National Curriculum as possible. Subjects such as Maths, English, RE, Science and PE are generally taught discretely, however we do link them to topics whenever we can.
The learning experiences within this year are hugely varied and include written outcomes, visits, experiments and research. We try to cover as many different aspects of learning as possible in order to make school fun and engaging for all members of the class.
We cover a wide range of topics, this year they will include (INSERT TOPICS HERE)
Homework is set on Fridays, and needs to be completed for the following Thursday. Homework books should be brought to school everyday, so that any additional information can be added into them.
PE kit should be in school everyday. This consists of white T shirt, navy/black shorts and daps. Just for the winter, when the field is wet, the children will need old trainers for the sessions with St Peter's along with plain blue jogging bottoms.
We will be swimming from January to the end of the term before Easter.
